Wedding Services
Octavia can provide music for both your ceremony and your drinks reception, and are able to tailor perfectly the music they provide for your wedding to your own wishes and preferences.
The Ceremony
Pre-Ceremony – We will play for around 20 – 30 minutes while your guests are arriving.
Processional – We will help you choose the perfect song for the bridal entrance
Signing of the Register – This is an opportunity for a feature piece as you have a few photos taken
Recessional – We will play the bride and groom out to something triumphant and celebratory.
The Drinks Reception
We provide a sophisticated ambience with beautiful background music while you and your guests enjoy canapés and drinks after the ceremony. We will move location for this into another room, or to a completely venue. We will even play outside, but we prefer somewhere sheltered, perhaps in doorway, under trees or a gazebo to protect our valuable instruments.
Additional Musicians
If you are looking for a larger ensemble we are able to provide these. We have a trio with cello or bass, or a string quartet with viola and cello or bass for classical music. We can also work as a trio or quartet with guitar or bass for jazz.
Mother Pluckers – This is a barn dance band featuring Naomi and Karen on electric violins and other musicians on drums, bass and guitar. We also are able to book callers who direct you through each dance for the evening. This is an excellent and entertaining event for an afternoon or evening celebration.
Jazz Duo/Trio – An incredible jazz duo or trio, great for dinner music, garden parties and everything in between. The trio is formed with different combinations of musicians, alongside a core of Tom (guitar) and Nick (double bass).
Boys in Blue – Our partner function band, perfect to party into the night. Often booked for prom events and private parties in venues such as Exeter Uni, Exeter School, and large private houses. They have an extensive range of pop music from 60s to current day, with vocals, keys, guitar, sax, bass and drums.
Jazz O’Clock – A larger jazz ensemble who met performing in a big band in Exeter, and then formed an ensemble for any occasion, recent performances including HMV Store in Exeter.
